So I will build a mATX build soon, the case I will use can support atx PSU, but I will mod the case so a smaller PSU can give me more space for my airflow. I will make a power hungry system so a 750w-800w PSU is needed and it needs to be sfx size.

@Dackzy The highest Wattage that you can get at this point in time (that I know of) for SFX is the SX700-LPT from Silverstone, 700 Watt.

Which honestly? It really should be more than enough for running SLI, even with some overclocking.

I can put a normal atx psu in it, but to get the most airflow in the front a smaller size psu would help. What is the shortest atx psu I can get?

140mm is the shortest I've ever seen. But why do you want this particular case for such a project? I think it is one of the worst cases you can get for such a project

You can get some insane airflow in it after the front mod were I push the front about 1cm out, me and my friend did some math about every second all the air inside the case would have be changed about 4 times. The case also looks pretty epic and I will also make a full Plexiglas side. I have found the fans that I will use even if I run them at half speed there will still be really good cooling in it and even at max speed it will be pretty quiet.

Here's an example of how power efficient these new graphics card are. Power is measures directly at the card itself, from the PCIe and the 8-pin.

I will most likely get 2x 490x and OC them and it is always nice to have more power than you need.

The only problem is that you might just to limited to 600 Watt for SFX, since I haven't actually found a place anywhere that sell the 700 Watt version of that power supply...

in the worst case I will get the shortest good atx psu I can find, but hopefully the 700w will be out when I really need it, maybe even a 800w will be out.

A normal length for ATX supplies is anywhere between 140mm for shorter ones, up to 160~170mm.

So a good candidate should be Cooler Master's V750, which is 140mm long, and still uses a 120mm fan.

Even for SLI, modern cards use so little power that the 700W Silverstone is way more than enough. If you want to SLI 1080s then a Corsair SF600 is good provided you don't overclock things.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Like two games run in DX12 because it's super shitty and unstable for one, second of all, "Maxwell with a die shrink" can basically describe any generational upgrade going from one generation to the next.
