GPU Choice

Hey there

 

I am going to be building my first rig in a few months, and am on a relatively tight budget, and I cant decide between:

04G-P4-3969-KR

1070 FTW (when it releases)

 

I know the 960 will have lesser performance, but the 1070 will cost more.

 

I only really run games at 1080P

Don't VR

 

What should I get for a first time rig between these two?

For 1080p please wait and see what Polaris has in store, AMD will be announcing the new cards on Wednesday. The 1070 is aimed at 1440 and above.

Really untill they launch the 1060 and AMD have polaris on the shelves, you won't know... For now I'd go used 970 if you can get a good deal.. Still a GREAT card for 1080

most of the custom vendor cards are gonna be cheaper than Nvidia's reference card, even if only a little
