I want to make a desktop computer and I have $1000AUD to build it. This is not including monitors, keyboards, ect.

I need to run Programimg software, Dreamweaver and photoshop type programs and I'll also be doing some gaming on it. I will be playing minecraft and I need to be able to run a modpack using 200-300 mods. I might have 3-5 programs running at the most

Anyone able to help me out with a build? Thanks

This leaves you just over $300 for a GPU.  Polaris GPUs should be revealed in the next few days, maybe even coming to market by the end of June.  Worth waiting for, at least until reviewers get there hands on them.  If the 480/480X cards perform well, you might be able to grab one for $300.  A R9 380 4GB would do you fine, the R9 480 should be a good deal better.

You can add mass storage as you need it, later.  Grab the SSD first and get Windows installed.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($275.00 @ Centre Com)

Works well

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170-HD3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($156.00 @ CPL Online)

Cheapest motherboard there

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

DDR4-2400 Memory  ($50.60 @ Newegg Australia)

Cheap ram, speed of 2400mhz

Storage: Seagate  1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid Internal Hard Drive  ($98.00 @ IJK)

Not as fast as an ssd, but not as slow as a hard drive...sort of in the middle

Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card  ($259.00 @ Mwave Australia)

Really good deal at 4gb...

Case: Deepcool TESSERACT SW ATX Mid Tower Case  ($55.00 @ Mwave Australia)

I've used this case, cable management is what you would expect for a budget case, but all the other features are really good

Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($79.00 @ PCCaseGear)

Decent PSU for that 960

Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer  ($19.00 @ IJK)
Total: $991.60
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
