Windows Error Code

Hello all!

On my friend's laptop (an Asus f555uj-xo051t) he tried to boot it up today and "Error Code: 0xc0000098" decide to show its head. He said the recovery USB was not identified either. Any reasons this could have happened and how to fix it? (He said he'll call Microsoft tomorrow) Thanks for any suggestions!
