preferably open, but there aren't many good open headphones in my price range. 

Fairly large headphones, I want them to be comfortable.

In that case I can recommend a set of either Grado SR60i or SR80i if you can find them in the right range. You might want to try them on first though, some have issues with the comfort, others don't. MKBHD talked about them in a video he did a little while back. Lot of bang for the buck!
