Display driver crashed

Hello everyone,

Recently im facing a problem of crashing of my display driver. Im not sure why this is keep happening but its happening quit frequently. If i close app or any game it keep crashing and ultimately blue screen appear and pc restart. Sometime even when using any app is crashed. Can u guys tell me how to solve this problem?

It happend to my sister after i upgraded the graphics card. I found out that the pc would behave normally but the driver would crash from time to time. The power supply was to weak in her case

it could be that the new card is pulling too much power for the powersupply. It may only happen when the card "spikes" it's powerdraw, so regular browsing wont cause it but anything graphics intensive may cause it.

 

Also, have you tried downclocking the card to see if the manufacture put too high of an overclock on the chip (had an old 6770 that would crash unless underclocked by 124mhz due to being factory overclocked by 300) if the psu is powerfull enough and underclocking helps then you may want to return that card.

CPU: Dual Core E6600

Motherboard: Asus P5P41t le

Ram: 4gb

Graphics card: Sapphire 6950 ddr5

PSU: Corsair CX500

Cpu cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212x

OS: Windows 7

 

and yes driver is up to date..
