Chrome + WebGL = Snags???

I have been having a ton of issues with chrome recently, (everything going black, not able to change tabs, youtube not being able to play videos correctly on chrome (gives different error every time) ect...). I also have been seeing the "Rats!, WebGL hit a snag" error and I did a bit of research to see what WebGL is and from what it looks like WebGL could be causing these errors. Does anyone know what happens if WebGL were to be disabled and if it would fix these problems and or cause more?
