So i bought the kingston hyperx cloud 2s a few months ago. it worked perfectly fine no worries. a few weeks back the mic just stopped working and i tried everything to try to get it too work, but eventually ended up being sent a new one, assuming it had to be broken. it just arrived today and the same problem. doesnt show up as sound on pc/xbox nor does the pc even acknowledge its existence. im stumped on what to do so decided to turn my head to LTT forums. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Did they also send you a new dongle? Bear in mind you can eliminate the dongle by using the headset on a smartphone. You can use the mic just fine. Also, completely silly question, but it never hurts to ask. You made sure it's not the mic mute switch on the dongle right? Or even just the volume.

EDIT: Have you also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the dongle drivers in the device manager? Assuming of course you use it with the dongle.

i dont and never have used the dongle. the mute is definetly not on, i checked like a bazillion times. not sure about drivers. doesnt really explain why it would stop working, and you cant download them onto xbox so wouldnt help there but ill give it a shot and see if i can change anything.

Many people have the problem with mic after some use, it's just way it's designed (detachable).

I owned Siberia V2 and it has pull-out type of mic so every time u pull it out of the earcap it moves and the wire moves so at some point it will get damaged.

Moving parts will at some point in their lifetime fail and it doesn't matter what they are made of.

In your case it's a new set and it doesn't work. In this case I don't know why since I've never dealt with such issue nor owned the headset.

Should've asked for platform/use scenario too, yeah. It's plug n' play for the xbox so no need to mess with drivers. Again though, wouldn't hurt to try it on a phone as a hands-free device to eliminate a second faulty mic. I'd be surprised if that happened, they're usually pretty bulletproof.

nothing from the phone, though im not surprised

seriously unsure, thinking maybe the microphone wire split in the cable or something????

Wow, so the replacement is a dud too? That'd be some serious bad luck. Also, just checking, due to the wording in the first post, did they send you an entire headset or just the mic?

In that case, if you're still getting nothing, it's probably an issue with the actual headset, maybe the 3.5mm plug for the mic, especially if you attach/detatch the mic frequently. I'd assume they'd have asked you to troubleshoot it that way, because usually their support is top notch. I was sent a new dongle f.ex, no questions asked. You probably have to contact them again.

Edit: Could also be a cabling issue or a consolidated 3.5mm jack issue.
