Building a new system soon after a few years and wandering if parts are the right choice in terms of quality and if there are better for near same price.

buying used 900 series will be better if it drops as much as expected. people are selling 980s for 400ish in ontario in my small town so imagine after it comes out and if you live in a big town. Either way just wait and save up :)

New to the forum! Treat me well please :3 as I am a noob

there are cheaper motherboards out there: http://search.pccasegear.com/search#?lbc=pccasegear&method=and&p=Q&ts=ajax&uid=919391620&w=z170&isort=price

I wouldn't personally bother spending over $270 for a motherboard.

id grab a Samsung 950 Pro 256GB M.2 SSD if you can afford it.

as for GPUs, id guess ~600 for the the 1070 and under 1200 for the 1080.

u however can get the 1080 for under 1000 if you get it shipped from the US here: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

The 1070 will be ~400, the 1080 will be ~600. They're really good value cards

EDIT: JUST REALISED PRICES WERE AUD. NEVERMIND.

Budget should be around the $2000 for main parts. looking to make future proof (if that is even possible) for at least few of the parts. Gaming build for upcoming titles

solid fps.

Have you considered something like the Phanteks Enthoo EVOLV ATX - Tempered Glass edition? I think it's much better looking (and similarly priced) to the 805, but with better internet layout & RGB lighting.

Ahh yea the AUD vs USD thing. It's like $180 USD

From your list though, I'd recommend against the H55 and S340 and rather go with something like the H100iGTX in a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M or Fractal design define S (or the 805 if @cedge206 really wants the InWin case (with arguably aweful internal layout).

Eh, I just chose what would work with AUS prices. If it fits in the budget, along with however much the 1080 costs, be my guest.

Yea I realized that after, I thought you were working in USD until I realized that $180 USD is $280 AUD.

Just be aware of the very restricted front airflow on the 805, and the slightly weird internal layouts.

water cooling for cpu and a blower fan gpu eg founders edition. should help the temps you think?

only reasonable intake is at bottom of case two fans there and rad at rear for cpu.
