So, I am thinking that my old 2012 GTX 660Ti could use an upgrade. I am considering the GTX 1080 when its released as it would be a considerable upgrade. I am moderately concerned that I could be sitting on a potential CPU bottleneck. My current system has a Core i5 3570k. This may also not be an issue because it competes very closely to the Core i5 6600k onm CPUBoss. (LINK) http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i5-6600K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-3570K

What about a 970? So you don't have to upgrade your motherboard, cpu, and ram.

Why would he have to upgrade them for the 1080?

Just go used market man. Polaris and Pascal on the horizon, and 290s and 970s be cheap findings on there.

sites like cpu boss are trash!

but your cpu is alright. just wait for 1070 benchmarks and then decide what you do. maybe get a discounted 390 after the release would be a good deal.

I wouldn't trust CPUBoss if I were you, I mean look at it:  thhe 3570K outperforms a 6700K using all cores? Still the 6700K has a better overall score, even though it only beats the 3570K with the integrated graphics? " More than 469.8x better geekbench 3 AES single core score " than a 6600K?

Having said that, I doubt the CPU will be much of a bottleneck since it's still a very good processor (though with my expertise that is only slightly more trustworthy than CPUBoss).

I would wait for the actual in-game benchmarks though, you might want to consider saving some money by going with the 1070 (or polaris?).

Nah. CPUBoss, GPUBoss, and the rest are completely garbage. Your´s is much better.
