APU? For skyrim WITH mods? NO. For gaming APU-> just NO. You can get so much better performance with 70$ cpu and 80 dollar gpu.

I will post a build without and hard drive, brb 4 min.

there you go, this system will run skyrim with mods, if you experience any low fps, turn off shadows, because they render on cpu

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1HU4V

CPU:  AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard:  MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($66.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card:  PowerColor Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card  ($179.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $426.95
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-09-26 15:24 EDT-0400)

This motherboard is not overclocking one. You can do it, but its not advisable. Also i didnt include CPU fan, since cpu is perfectly capable and you wont need to overclock.

7950 is perfect for the job, since it has 3 GB of vram, it can also render all the layers and filters, high res textures with no problem.

Are you satisfied with build and price?

Best I could come up with.

Motherboard:  Biostar A55MD2 Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard  ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card:  Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card  ($175.66 @ Newegg)
Case:  NZXT Source 210 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($39.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply:  Corsair CX 430W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply  ($34.99 @ Microcenter)
Total: $413.61
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-09-26 15:11 EDT-0400)

Now it's good thing to know that the 750k is on a dead socket (Fm2), so if you consider upgrading in the future, replace your motherboard and processor first. Then your PSU to something around 700w, then finally add a second 7870 and you'll have a beast rig.

EDIT:

I thought you meant you chose the case, hence it being in the PCPP list, but if you already own it, get this;

CPU:  AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor  ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard:  Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard  ($49.99 @ Microcenter)
Video Card:  Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card  ($175.66 @ Newegg)
Power Supply:  Corsair CX 430W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply  ($34.99 @ Microcenter)
Total: $398.62
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-09-26 15:36 EDT-0400)

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 @ Stock, CPU cooler: Dark Rock 4, Motherboard: MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX, RAM: 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 @ 3000Mhz, GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 ACX 3.0, SSD: Crucial P1 1TB M.2 + 2x120GB SSDs, Case: Corsair 110R, PSU: Corsair TX650M, OS: Windows 10 64-bit.

I fully back this build. Other than the fact that the guy already has a case :)

Hmm, i am not sure if OP meant if he has case and hard drive allready, ...

Anyway, I disagree with decision to buy 750k in a build in witch you CAN put 6300... its 20 bucks more only ! And it performs better multi thread becase 2 more cores.

Dont you think 2 more cores, better performance both stock and overclocked is better in any case is worth 20 measily bucks?? :P

Eh, I would rather save the $20 and put it towards something like an 8320/i5 in the long run. But for now, that build is more than capable.

That case was in his pcpartpicker list linked, so I assumed he chose that case. If he already owns it, put the extra money towards a six core. I just edited my first post.

yes. Or he could buy 750k overclock it ( can you on this mobo? ) since skyrim is cpu hungry, and he can easily afford 7950.

Ewww. The FM2 motherboard is ugly. I'm putting in an MSI FM2-A75MA-E35. And in your list, you forgot the hard drive.

I love this build. I go over the budget my $120 even w/o the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS. I think I can get him to spend more though.
