4k gaming monitors are limited due to bandwidth limitations of HDMI 1.4 and DP 1.2.  With the advent of Pascal and Polaris, which both support HDMI 2.0 and DP 1.4 or 1.3,  I think we'll start to see 120hz 4k monitors this year (at least I'm really hoping we do!).  At least wait until next week to see what gets announced at Computex 2016.  I'm guessing we'll see some cool new 4k gaming displays.

so the thing with 4k is that you need a bigger monitor with windows otherwise you can see anything or your going to use scaling which blurrs half of the programms.

if you use it for gaming i would seriously suggest to go for g- or freesync.

Dp 1.2 and hdmi 1.4 are in most gpus right? And newer gpus will have next gen stuff..another question..would the newer gpus be compatible with the old 4k monitors still?..cause im just assuming the new 4k monitors will be wayy out of my budget??

Actually Dell already has a 4K 120Hz monitor ready to go, the Dell UP3017Q OLED Monitor. It costs $5,000, has a 30 inch display and thin bezel. The displays is capable of a 0.1ms response time, a contrast ratio of 400,000 to 1, and a refresh rate of 120Hz and is crazy thin as well in terms of depth.

If by "has" you mean "announced" then yes. As far as we know, it uses DisplayPort 1.3 or 1.4 for 120 Hz at 4K, which will require the newer graphics cards to use fully. So, same as what the other guy said already :)

Edit: I was misled by the fake "hands on" reviews. Oh well, hopefully it launches soon :)

There are some Korean 4k displays that are pretty decent.  The guys at Tek Syndicate really like them and have a number of reviews on their various models.  They are generally pretty cheap and of OK quality, some of the newer ones seem pretty good. Most of them support Freesync.

Dell P2715Q is pretty reasonable for a 4k IPS and has been all around a very good monitor too me.
