HTPC. 1080 streaming and Payback

Ps_domingo

Hi! I'm looking for parts for an HTPC that has super low power consumption.

I have a slight idea on how to go about this but I Need you help guys!

So here are my Questions:

1) What CPU should I use Intel or AMD? (must have 1080p playback and streaming)

2) Much much RAM do I really need?

3) I'm thinking Mini-Itx Form Factor, is there anything smaller then the prodigy but in the same price range?

4) Is it possible to use this like a NAS ( mainly for streaming to other TV's)

5) The TV has a 300mbps stick will that suffice? (assuming this PC is connected through a wired connection)

CPU: i5 -2400 Cooler: Noctua NH-L12 Mobo: Fatal1ty Z68 Pro Gen3 Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600mhz SSD: Samsung 840 120gb HDD: WD 3TB Green, Seagate Barracuda 1TB GPU: Asus GTX 760 Direct CU II (future SLI) Sound card: Xonar Phoebus PSU: Corsair RM series 750 watts Case: Aerocool Mechatron Fans: Bit Fenix Spectre Pros

System: Razer Edge Mouse: Razer Orochi Mouse pad: Razer Vespula Controlers: Razer Sabertooth (2 pcs.) Headset: Razer Blackshark Speakers: Razer Ferox What can I say, I'm a huge fan of Razer.  :D

An A6 is more than enough, probably even a A4.

1) An AMD APU would be more then enough, probably a A4 or an A6.

2) 2-4GB, depending on your OS

3) The Cooler Master Elite 100, 120 or 130 are coming to mind, maybe the Fractal Design Node 304.

4) Yes

5) What do you mean with the 300Mbps? Like the TV itself? if you connect the HTPC to the PC (HDMI) then your TV won't need network connectivity.

Either a8 or a10 barbecue they will push 1080p easier.

Even my E450 was able to play back normal 1080p, it had some problems with 1080p flash videos, and videos with heavy subtitle effects, so the A4 would be enough, the A6 would be MORE than enough.

You don't need much to stream video just a low power APu and I would put Linux on it. (Steam os?)

This would cost too much for an HTPC... This is viable for a Low End gaming rig though.

Regarding the RAM and OS. I was thinking Steam or Windows (though I also wanna get stuff from the scalliwags in boats in a body of water..) sooo I'm guessing 4?

And the dongle thing for the TV. It's internet capabilities is reliant to this addon stick from sony. Unfortunately The TV's at home does not have access to wired connections. (Btw these are other TVs aside from the actual Home theater)
