Help with Nikon lens upgrade

Hey, so I've had a Nikon D5200 for awhile now and I'm quite sure I'm still using the stock lens it came with so I'm wanting to "upgrade" the lens. So far I've been pretty happy with the lens so something similar just better glass. The one I have is a Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G and my budget would be 200-300AUD? Oh if it helps I like to shoot at night and during the day mostly city landscape but sometime animals and waterfalls/Mountains stuff like that. Thanks guys any recommendations would be much appreciated!

AUD $200-300 is not much to get a "better" lens unless you can find something decent in the second hand department.  My first suggestion is for you to save up more money and then look for a lens you want.

Now as for choosing a particular lens, you seem to want to do many things and it's not likely that there is one single lens that can do them all.  You can of course buy something like an 18-200mm lens that will cover the focal length range that most photographers use, but such a lens will be a very big compromise on quality and capability.  You need to understand what sort of focal length and f-stop you require to capture a particular scene, which will help you choose a lens.  You can check the links in my signature to get a quick understanding of what lens types are available.

Agreed with @ALwin probably all you could do in that budget is a cheap fast prime but it depends if that is the kind of lens you are looking for

There is a vast choice of options and they all cost money

International version is so much cheaper than the US version.  Since you mentioned AUD being currency, I figured US market wasn't what you were after. Basically the same range (a tiny bit wider) but allows you to open up far more for low light exposures and that oh so awesome DOF.
