my idea is this since ek and alphacool don't make a specific full waterblock for the rog matrix gtx980 platinum i will use a universal waterblock from ek (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-vga-supremacy-acetal-nickel), or this one (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-thermosphere-acetal-nickel, https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-thermosphere-mounting-plate-g200) to cool the gpu anyway this guy has the basic idea of what i want to do

the only issue that remains is how to cool the vrms (voltage regulator modules) since i hear the become very hot under load

anyway let me know

With passive heat sinks, there to find some good ones

For the gigabyte GPU EKWB should have a full cover waterblock for that but the fact that you have two different GPU's is going to cause an issue with SLI setup for cooling as it can't use something like the terminal block from EKWB to cool both blocks. It may be a good idea of get both of the same cards or to possible get a GTX 1080 and a waterblock when they come out for it

I think maybe I will leave the rog matrix gtx980 platinum for another system build possibly with a 6700k processor. I think there is no way to water cool the rog matrix gtx980 platinum without using an all in one water cooler paired with the nzxt g10 bracket or using a universal water block from ek or alphacool

as for gigabyte I thank the heavens above they make water blocks the gpu I have. I will have to see how it goes

now all I need is a part list I already have a basic idea of what I need....I think :( not sure

-->ek-vga supremacy universal gpu water block (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-vga-supremacy-acetal-nickel)

-->ek kit x240 (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-kit-x240)

-->ek fc980 gtx wf3 (https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc980-gtx-wf3-acetal-nickel)

-->some tubing and fittings to make it all work together

it would all come around to $550 not bad assuming it is done properly

the next 2 issues I have is tied in with my location since I live in the united arab emirates

1) where do I get the parts from?

and

2) who is knowledgeable enough to do all this work? because the last time the I gave my computer in for assembly. they didn't know how to do cable management, they didn't connect the front panel connectors properly hence the computer would start hence I had to take it all apart and start over again, I can't imagine what will happen to my beloved $2500 pc with water cooling in these guys hands

I need to find someone like these guys to do the water cooling

Paul (pauls hardware)

Dimitri (hardware Canucks)

Linus (linus tech tips)

Jay (Jayz two cents)

ncix

because it's no joke one small leak and I could damage my entire pc, Then what these people over here they aren't exactly known for their helpfulness "I'm sorry no warranty no warranty why not simply buy a new graphics card nobody repair why repair sorry sorry please you wan't buy new one" and that's the end of that?

anyway if you guys know any really good pc builders in the united arab emirates like the guys mentioned above let me know. in the mean while I'm going to try and contact some friends and see if they can help me out. Wish me luck because I am so out of it :(

thanks but I checked it and I don't think it will work for the rog matrix gtx980 platinum because the pcbs look slightly different when compared to one another

bahahaha.... lol those VRMs... must be like 20 of them

yeah it looks like Alphacool only has the Matrix Platinum only for 780

but doesn't that EKWB fit you from the screenshot?

yeah it does anyway it seems as though i will either have to find way to passively cool the vrms or continue using an aio liquid cooler along the nzxt g10 the problem with an aio liquid cooler is that i hate the way it aesthetically looks anyway thanks for you help guys
