Games freeze on opening

Go to solution Solved by mastaman01,

i found it to be the CAM computer monitor software that tech of tomorrow suggested. I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't agree with my computers. I just uninstalled it and it worked fine.

Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with my games. When I open many of my games, they freeze when I open the games. They will continue to play the games sound and everything, but will freeze on one of the loading images before the menu. I have tested the witcher 2, Path of exile, borderland 2 and pre-sequel, and a few more on both my laptop and desktop. It does the same thing on both systems.

Desktop:

i7 4790k no oc

gtx 970 asus no oc

16 GB of g-skill ram (that i am currently using memtest on but i dont think it is amounting to anything)

gigabyte gaming 7 motherboard

windows 10

laptop:

asus n56j

17 4710HQ

8 GB of ram

gtx 840m

windows 10

Just to get this straight, you have 2 computers that both have the exact same issue that once you open up any of the mentioned games the game will freeze up?

If that is indeed the case, first bet would be your Antivirus / Antispyware / Firewall software. Disable them all (probably unplug the internet if not required) and test again.

Second though would be, you updated your drivers on both systems, at the same time (so I'd assume GPU drivers most likely) and picked the wrong ones which then, out of a miracle, got installed. So try re-installing them if the disabling of AV etc. software does not do anything.

If both of these fail, you are probably having the same virus on both machines, though that is higly unlikely.
