So I was using my Toshiba Satellite S55-B normally, when I accidentally let its battery run out. I charged it back up, and it seemed to work fine, until I started up BOI: Rebirth today. My laptop is now struggling with games that it could run without a second thought before.

The only thing I can think of is that the power failure somehow messed up my hardware. Any suggestions/ideas on what this problem could be? Any help is greatly appreciated.

another thing that could be is that its getting hot. download open hardware monitor and check your temps. if that's it then check this out:

About 38 degrees Celsius idle.

Max 50 Degrees Celsius while playing BOI.

Your system is probably still set to "power saving" mode due to the battery running dry.

Just open the start menu and type in "power options" and change it back to "balanced".

Here is a somewhat releated article that shows you how to get there, kinda.

(yes its for win7, but its virtually the same in 8 and if I recall correctly also pretty much the same on win10)

@Nord or quote me if you want me to reply back. I don't necessarily check back or subscribe to every topic.
