It is definitely the best on paper but in fact it is very faulty and has many quality issues, so depending on someones quality requirements this is only another monitor great on paper and bad in reality, and good units are mostly only in legends, just like very most of gaming monitors.

If we talk about 3440x1440 monitors, there are no strict alternatives to Acer X34 and Asus PG348Q because of resfresh rate and adaptive sync differences. There are some quality 3440x1440 monitors on the market, mostly new LG line (34UM88, 34UC88 and 34UC98) but they have 75 Hz refresh rate (UM88 is 60 Hz) instead of 100 Hz, and they have FreeSync instead of G-sync, so there are differences and trade offs.

This is why 34" ultrawide market is so bad for customer, monitors are not only expensive and faulty, but also there are a lot of trade offs needed to get quality screen. But this doesn't apply only to 34" ultrawide market, quality gaming 1440p monitors are also hardly existing, if at all.

I just want 3440x1440 with G-Sync and i looked on the  PG348Q  but i like x34 better and it has better reviews. And also its recomended by Linus ofc :)

But the video from linus is starting to get old now. So just wondered if there was an alternative.

Recommendations from youtubers and reviewers who are getting their items from manufacturers doesn't mean anything. Even if they keep being independent, which itself is very unlikely, they are getting polished units that are usually not existing in reality. Only way to get any reliable view on monitor are customers reviews, and only very few of them because most of people doesn't even know what they are buying which makes them not aware of issues which makes their reviews useless. Only reviews of monitors actually bought from the market, not received from manufacturer, reviews made by people aware of what they are buying, are reliable. Only this reflects reality. Sponsored reviews of polished units sent by manufacturer are meaningless.

Is Acer Predator X34 still the best gaming monitor out there ?

Or is there other products to consider ??

'Best' is entirely subjective, but in my eyes a curved 4K screen exceeding 100Hz with an IPS panel is just asking for trouble, not to mention a hell of a lot of money. The X34 is no doubt a good monitor, but it's plagued with problems because of what it can do. Personally, I don't see the point. There are excellent monitors out there that are 1440p, which is a very good resolution, and refresh rates around 144Hz which is great for competitive FPS. And though most are TN panels, some are actually pretty decent like the one I got in terms of color.

I say be willing to settle for a little less than the latest and it should serve you well. Hell, a lot of people are still satisfied with 1080p and most manufactures can make those with their eyes closed now, whereas ten years ago it was where 4K is now. Just gotta ask yourself what you want out of a monitor but asking for one that has everything is a stretch.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
