Hey guys!

I would really like to start using multiple desktops in windows 10 - but why are they so freaking bad? Like you can't rename your desktops, you cannot have different backgrounds or themes on them so you can figure out on a glance which you are currently on. If you have a program open in one desktop and you want to open it in another windows switches you automatically to the other one - like ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? May I have two instances of chrome runing on two desktops? And you also can't customize your taskbar.

Sorry for the rant - I just can't understand why they implemented this so badly.
What dou you think of multiple desktops in windows? Do you know of any third party programs which would fix my issues?

Thank you for your answers in advance (=

Amen to that rant.

I never use them either. I solved it by using multiple monitors :/

Sorry...

I feel like this is just from someone who can't appreciate that something like this exists natively out of the box and demands more and more and keeps moving the goal posts because "hurdur Microsoft is full of a bunch of idiots who can't program an OS".

Also I was able to open up another instance of Firefox within the desktop it was intended for so I don't know what the problem is there.

@M.Yurizaki

So it is wrong to demand a feature being implemented in a meaningful way? LMAO. I admit I have only limited programming experience in php, c++, java and mysql - well maybe not that limited after all. It must be truly a tremendous task to add the possibility to rename a desktop from "desktop x" to work or gaming. And different backgrounds for each desktop - like am i insane? It is not like it is the year 2016 and Microsoft is one of the bigest companies with virtually limitless resources.

I should just be satisfied with the forced updates, edge, stupid apps, privacy issues, bad search results and the multiple desktops. Otherwise I can just choose a different OS for gaming that simply works from the countless alternatives... oh wait

and yes I am salty af xD

I'm not saying you should kiss up to Microsoft, but this came off to me like again, someone who is moving the goalposts and cannot show at least some semblance of appreciation. If you don't like Microsoft's implementation, I'm pretty sure there are others out there that do what you want.

I just get salty other people get salty, because as a software developer myself, you'd be surprised how many "simple things" break things for no apparent reason:
