Hey,

So it may be a dumb question, but when it comes to mobile data and streaming video, how much mobile data does it actually use? If I have a 1.0 gb movie on my plex server and I stream it, would it take 1.0 gb of my mobile data plan? Or is that not how it works...

Thanks

I believe it mostly depends on which transport protocol you use, if you use UDP you should be a little bit closer to that original 1 gb of mobile data, since it doesnt have to do error checking

(That is if the whole 1GB movie is sent from the server, and isnt compressed in any way)

depends on your player. sometimes there is compression going on sometimes not.

if you dont have the best signal for example most players will lower the bitrate or resolution and your going to consume less data.
