So I own a P8 Lite and my day was fine and dandy until I saw something. My charger cable, by the connection to the phone, the rubber thing that covers the wire had come loose and exposed some wire. Now I wouldn't normally care but I sleep with my phone next to me while it charges and now I don't feel so safe.

Right now I have duct taped the exposed wire part (rubber still over it) and I went to go and see what Micro-B Charging Cables there were and there were so many out there and I'm scared that I'll pick up a dodgy one.

So what Micro-B Cable would you recommend me to buy? Preferably not too expensive like >US$30.

Thanks

Probably there's an AmazonBasics one, those should be fine.

scared of a cable. thats new to me. in theory every usb cable under 2 bucks even is good enough. the difference is length and cable insulation (breakability). just buy the cheapest one that is long enough. everything is better then a broken cable

i honestly just get knockoff USB cables from a local shop, the connectors are a bit iffy, and the cable is improperly made (the outer insulation isnt "tight" around the wires by any stretch of the imagination)

but really.. micro B is such a shitty connector i might as well get the iffy one because the good one wil go iffy within months either way.

you said cable. for the charger you need to get a good brand. a friend of mine had a kitchen fire last week because she is a cheapskate who taught a $1 charger would be 'just as good' as the $10+ ones. now she knows why i don't buy cheap stuff.

well.. i have a device that bit the dust because the cable went iffy, and a short zap made the power supply respond by sending 300 volts into the 3 volt device. which.. if you're the source of the short because you touched bare copper... yeah :P

Don't break your cable and replace it when it does. the power supply is also faulty if it can't controle the output voltage. i wouldn't use that either.
