Windows 8 apps

What kind of apps are you referring to? There's always the option to disable the services, disable them in the startup menu (If they're listed) Delete them from the Remove Programs menu (again if they're listed). You can check the Settings>System>Apps & Features. See if it'll let you uninstall. They're all viable options. There's some others if none of those help.
