Hi, so recently my friend dropped his laptop on its side and everything works but the LED backlight. You can still see the image with very high light but there is just no backlight. So since LED screens don't have inverters (right? Correct me if i'm wrong here) I swapped out the entire panel for a new one with the same exact model. But... still. Not back light. Same exact problem. I mean, I switched the ENTIRE panel! I checked the cable connecting the panel and everything looks fine. What is going on here?! Help please.

Thanks in advanced.

If you love what you do, it's not work.

Sounds like a LCD screen then. There is a little backlight converter on the bottom of the screen. Looks like a long green board

I had the same problem with a hp laptop here`s some tips make sure there is absolutely no power to the device unplug it and take the battery out and wait about 15 minutes so it can discharge then put it all back and see if it lights

swapping the converter that little lounge bar at the bottom with a line in one side and out the other it there is still no luck i'm afraid the its the motherboard so you can replace it and let me tell you thats a pain in the ass.

Damn. That's what I was afraid was the case and is. :/

Most likely a 1 Ohm fuse burnt out or something. Stupid fuses always causing problems since ever :(
