Windows doesn't ask for product key

So I'm trying to reinstall windows 8.1 on my new sad because my hdd broke but it doesn't ask for a product key and when it finishes there's something on my desktop that says "windows 8.1 build 9600" How to I remove this and put in my product key?

If you have a valid product key it will dissapear when you connect to the Internet. You can right click "This Computer" and pick properties and at the bottom of the window you can choose to put in a product key.
