Best Air Cooler

I am looking for the best air cooler that won't be as loud as a jet engine or could easily fail and that won't take up too much space. Every air cooler that I look at seems to have reviews of doesn't fit or messes up the motherboard does anyone know of one that doesn't do this but can still cool very well? (Processor I am planning is I7-6700K Skylake Quad Core)

i think the best air coolers atm are the  Noctua NH-D15 and BeQuite Dark Rock Pro 3 - kinda expensive tho.

Doesn't fit??? What case and motherboard are you planning to use?

Those mobo warping/bending/cracking reports were specifically related to shipping where they won't always handle your computer with care, after all hanging a KG off any mobo and throwing it around probably won't turn out well. But to give good advice we'd need case size (or what specific case you're using/plan to use) and ram to determine if ram clearance would be an issue, but yeah pretty much every "best" air cooler is pretty sizable out of necessity
