I recently replaced my rig's PSU with an older semi-modular Corsair HX750W. It seemed like a good swap - no issues upon the first test boot. Then I noticed that it wasn't resuming from sleep mode. After putting it to sleep and trying to wake it, the tower's lights and fans start up, but nothing happens on the monitor at all. Maybe the modular cable supplying sata power to the hard drives is bad? I'm looking for any and all suggestions on things I can try. Sleep mode was working normally right before the power supply supply swap.

Ah good old sleep mode

All rather useless if you ask me

Just use shut down and start up normally - I never use sleep/hibernate for this reason

Makes no sense to me to use sleep when the argument for using sleep was that it was quicker to boot/resuming with what you were doing...

Now days we have SSDs

What CPU are you using?  There was an issue with Corsair PSUs and Haswell/Haswell-E CPUs and waking up from sleep.

I'm using a 4770K. I think that's Haswell...

I'm curious about this more widespread issue you're alluding to. Do you have any more information about it?

Not even  slightly helpful. I'm aware that SSDs have lowered boot times, but for me sleep mode still has its uses.

I'll try to find it for you.  I agree that you should be able to use a feature like sleep.  Why build a setup and not use it just because you have SSDs?  I have plenty of really fast SSDs and I still use sleep.

So it looks like the compatibility chart has updated with time.  It was a bigger issues in the past, but may still be affecting you in some way.

If you confirm that your PSU is good to go, let us know and we can look at some other causes.

Yes, the HX750 appears on that list as 100% compatible. I have to go to class now but feel free to keep looking for solutions :)
