I need help finding out if a 300w psu will work with a 8600 gt that i purchased. The graphics card says it requires a 350w psu. I cant buy a new psu right now because i am giving this graphics card to a friend that really needs one. The person I am giving this to only has a stock hp 300w psu. Will it be safe to use it for simple stuff and light gaming (minecraft), or will the power supply explode and kill everyone. Thanks -Cameron

Its an older hp pro 3130 psu i think

should be fine but you oughtta get a new psu maybe? if the connectors to the motherboard arent proprietary (using 24 pin ATX and 8 pin CPU)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
