Volume changes automatically?

Hi guys!

 

So I've got this problem with my PC. I was listening to some music, when I noticed that every time there was some bass thumping, the volume lowered, but not system volume. As if Windows automatically balances the music. Really weird. I've updated all my audio drivers, tried tweaking with every single setting in the control panel, but nothing gave the desired result.

 

Does anyone know what this might be?

You mean like a perceived drop in volume during a bass drop in an EDM song?

Mostly, of course it's more apparent in EDM, because those songs are usually bass heavy and more noticeable. It's not that the system volume is lowered. I applied an equalizer system wide, because my motherboard audio was lacking a whole bunch of bass. I don't know if that might be of any help
