CPU thermals

Go to solution Solved by aisle9,

Did you have RealTemp or CoreTemp running? Try running and using the PC for a while with one of those up, then keep an eye on your temps there. Heatsink temperature isn't necessarily the best indicator of CPU temp.

If the paste looked ok and you didn't touch the spreader or die, you should be good while you wait for new paste to arrive. If it looked like dried concrete or your temp monitoring software (RT or CT) shows things getting too hot, then you'd probably want to power it down and wait.

I have a motherboard with 2 Xeon's on it and the Temp OVER led was flashing red (over heating) put my hand on the heatsink and such was not hot at all..removed the heatsink and tried my best not to get the thermal paste on my finger, was not hot at off (PC off for about 30s) has 6 fans room is under 60 degrees fahrenheit (15C), a very cold room and the BIOS said it was 75 degrees fahrenheit (25C~).

Will I be fine with the thermal paste for a week or so when I get can new thermal paste, it looked fine but I kinda removed the heatsink and put it back so?

Anyone know of anything maybe the thermal temp went off like glitched?

- Thanks

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
