Get the 845. Then OC it using Baseclock. At around 4GHz (really easy to achieve), it will be about equal to a i5 2500k (stock).

The 845 does have better ipc but it has a locked multiplier, and less l2 cache, because of the l2 cache, the 860k generally will pull more fps.

Zen is not going to be sub 100 bucks, they are only launching 6 and 8 core parts at first, so you will be waiting for a long time, however they will probably launch a few unlocked 28nm carrizo apus on the am4 socket at first to get motherboards to the market before Zen launches.

Go for it. Core i5-6600 is the sweetspot between performance and price, if you don't have the Money, buy an i3

I agree, even im using a Skylake i7-6700 but if he(my friend) really wants a cheap build and i have to go back on AMD. Which one should i get that will run new games at 720p to 1080p max.

Buy an FX chip, it is current Gen for AMD and pretty cheap, maybe a 4300 (~80$)

I am actually able to Max out BF4 @40-50 fps on my FX-6100 so the newer architecture should help...

880K, FX-6350 or FX-8370(if you play DX12 games if not the FX-6350 is a better choice...)
