Go the GTX 1080, it will be cheaper and it will have the same performance. Spend the extra money somewhere else in your system.

If you want the 1080 return them. Nvidia said a single 1080 is faster than 2 980ti's in sli so there would be no point in keeping them. But you also have to take that with a grain of salt. I would wait until benchmarks come out and see what the real numbers are.

No, they didn't say that. They said it was faster than two 980s in SLI, which itself is questionable.
