Q: Do I have a virus?!
A: If you didn't click a sketchy email, haven't left your computer physically open to attack, haven't downloaded anything sketchy/free, know that your software hasn't been exploited in a new hack, then the answer is: probably not.

Q: What email/VPN should I use?
A: Proton mail and VPN are the best for email and VPNs respectively. (They're free in a good way)

Q: How can I stay anonymous on the (deep/dark) webzz???....

A: By learning how to de-anonymize everyone else; if you can do that, then you know what to do for yourself.

Q: What Linux distro is best for x y z?

A: Lubuntu for things with little processing power, Ubuntu for normal PCs, and if you need to do anything else then it's best if you do the research yourself.

Q: Why is my Linux giving me x y z error?

A: Have you not googled it? Are you sure StackOverflow doesn't have an answer? Does the error tell you what's wrong? If the answer is no to all of those, message me.

just... dont...

I mean... Tell him to save up a bit more, work a bit or something, a new PC for less than 500USD is just wasting money, no performance what so ever... Not even a 750Ti, using technologies that are years old...

Trust me, tell him to wait or beg for a bit more money

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

quite a bit more powerful than the build you suggested

Edit: saw you needed an optical drive , then get this :

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/lite-on-optical-drive-ihas12414

i believe it's very worthwhile to go 20$ over budget , because you're getting a computer with a newer cpu that will run cooler and quieter , and has a gpu that is quite a bit more powerful

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Honestly I don't see the point of that. I believe this computer is enough for what he'd like to do and spending more would not help anything.

The extra few dollars is probably alright, thanks. I think I'll keep the SSD over the HDD right now though, can always add the HDD later and it'd be good to put the OS on the SSD. Also, is there something about that optical drive than mine?

CS:GO and with this, ARK. And probably a few other low requirement games. He's aware of computers to an extent and isn't trying to max out Crysis or whatever. Just this to get solid frames on what he does.

probably won't be able to run ARK well, I would look at the used market and not build new if you really want a computer that cheap.

It's also fine . That optical drive in my list just happened to be a bit cheaper ( by like a few cents , so not a big deal )

It runs smooth with me, just not on low end hardware which is why they added the low end mode when you launch the game.

So that's enough in terms of gaming for a AAA or a few indies.
