cheap build idea

i'm a n00b at building PC's but I have always wanted to and finally have enough money so does anyone have a good build for about 500 usd (dont need a new tower my buddy lent me his)

By tower do you mean the case? Not sure, there's pcpartpicker.com - You can piece together parts and it'll tell you what is compatible and what isn't

Yes I'm pretty sure tower is the proper temp for a computer case
