Copying OS to a bigger drive okay?

Hi,

 

I'm looking to upgrade my current 250gb ssd to a larger 750gb ssd for my OS. Would it be okay just to copy everything over then just switch the drives?

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

Lounge PC CPU: 4790K MOBO: Asus Hero VII GPU: EVGA 3060 Ti PSU: Corsair RM650 RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb Storage: 970 Evo 1TB

clone dont just copy but yes, though it can have some issues. try it and if it fails do a fresh install as fixing it would be all but impossible.

Okie doke. Is there a program you can recommend?

if you can just do a fresh install, there can be issues with cloning an OS

i use minitools part wizard but there are more specialized ones, just google and pick

EASEUS Todo Backup or Macrium work well.

Used Macrium to clone the drive and everything is going well so far :)
