Ram cooling

So its been about two months with my first liquid cooled rig running. Still fixing some issues.

Just got done gaming on some Hardline and noticed my ram sensor says its at 60c. The heat sinks are dam hot. Gonna order the ek setup for my quad channel.

Anyone have an issue installing said kit? I have the gskill ares kit. Right now my system pretty much holds all the hot air in the case. Not sure how much this contributes as oppose to my overclocks and triple screen gaming.

The ol' dirty setup.

if you were to put fans on the front it would probably cool the ram and fans are cheaper than a ekwb ram kit

There are fans on the front of the case. And they cost 90 bucks, which in only 20 cheaper then buying the who ek set up.

Damn, those fans are the sexy Noctuas  that can ramp up to 3000 RPM! Heck, I'd crank them up the whole way just to get lower temperatures, no matter how loud they get.

On that note, surely more airflow would solve the problem rather than more tubing?

Well the whole reason I switched to water cooling is that I didn't have to hear my pc anymore. Getting more into using my speakers and like not hearing the hovercraft next to me. These are only the 2k fans. I keep every thing pegged around 45-50% and don't hear much. Ill crap them up and see if it helps at all.

I have also seen some people put them in isopropyl alcohol (or warm water) to remove the thermal material first.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

do you have a thermometer that you could use to check your loop temperature because i honestly dont think that putting it on water will cool it better. You only have two fans going into a large radiator so i would check the temperature of your loop before adding something.

No don't have anyway to check the water temp. I just focus on my gpu and cpu temps. Turned everything up to 80% and the ram sensor sat around 40-43c. Temps of everything went down but like I said, would rather it be quiet then run cooler solely based on airflow.

I have 6 case fans. 3 on the front rad, 2 on top rad and on on the back. I just rewired them this morning after getting this swifttech controller I can barely use.

That's pretty much how I imagined it would go. My heat gun just didn't have a low enough setting but Ill make it work. Seems simple enough.

Well cut the temps down %50 on the ram. Didn't have to turn the fans up, so it's a win/win.
