Need your opinion

Im currently working on an i3 540, 4gb of ram, a gtx 660 oc and a 120gb ssd. I was about to upgrade to an fx 8350 black, a msi 970 gaming mobo and 8gb of ram but I am unsure.

Should I risk second hand an upgrade my ram and cpu or should I wait until christmas and upgrade to an i7 / i5 with new graphic/s card/s and mobo.

 

If I do wait until christmas should I get a gtx 970, 980 or a second gtx 660 oc to SLI

 

Im on a tight budget. (300-550 max, cheaper the better) I mostly play DCS and CSGO. I already have storage, 8b of 1066mhz ram, case and a 600w psu

With a $550 max, it's possible for him to go 1231v3 and a B85 board.

Whats wrong though, Its a common company here in Spain and im not worried about power consumption.

Eh, I was going to say poor quality, but I don't know too much about the unit. @STRMfrmXMN know anything about the unit?

I think the xeon is  a bit op for my use, recommend anything cheaper?

Power consumption isn't the issue here, the unit is of poor quality and is likely to not last terribly long powering two GPUs. Get a new one before new GPU.

For SLI 660s (which you should not do as the GTX 1070 comes out in early June and will be better in every possible way) I'd recommend an EVGA 750B2 which shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. If you get one 1070 then the Antec HCG/Seasonic S12/M12 will be a good option.

Not when the GTX 1080 is more powerful than two 980s in SLI. Also, if you're on a "tight budget" then you shouldn't be buying a top-tier graphics card. You ESPECIALLY should not pair a top-tier GPU with a bad PSU.

 

My suggestion is to buy something that's outlined in yellow in my signature then buy a GTX 1070 when it comes out in early June. It'll be cheaper than a 980 anyways.
