TLC NAND is the devil. I use "old" Micron M500s, 240GB, bought from Micro Center for $61 each (they're on Amazon for about that price) to keep MLC in the family. They're plenty fast for just about any gaming application, and given how cheap they are and how well they perform, I heartily recommend them.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
