GTX590 Overheating?

Well a 5 series is getting a little old now, aint it?

put new thermal paste on it? maybe it is gone on one of them after all the years

Take the card apart, put new thermal paste on both chips and make sure that the application is EVEN and covers the chip. As long as it covers it, it doesn't matter if it spills over.

I wasn't bashing for old tech. If it still works, use it till it breaks.
I was more commenting on just that, though: Could just be reaching the end of is life.

And yeah, if windows doesn't recognize it sometimes it may be dying... But still try to fix it first.

Did you overclock it at all? My 750Ti ( may not be the same problem ) would have driver crashes if I pushed an overclock to far.

Also what is the air flow in your system? The 590 is a great card even today, so are the 580's. Though, they do get quite toasty. You may find a AIO for it? No idea if any company made some for it.

Try reinstalling Drivers also.

Your fan speed is sitting at 0% according to both programms, are you watercooling your cards?

Because if you aint, I'll be going as far as to say the fan(s) of GPU1 probably broke.

@Nord or quote me if you want me to reply back. I don't necessarily check back or subscribe to every topic.

 

Amdahls law > multicore CPU.
