Audio Driver/Device issues

 So my friend just picked up his R7 360, ran DDU and installed the GPU and drivers. Thing is, the Audio Device (speakers) isn't being picked up and the drivers are apparently borked - he's on Windows 7 and Windows update is also bricked for some reason. any idea why DDU would make the speakers not being recognized? Currently reinstalling 16.4.1 Crimson

Can you see the speakers in device manager?

If so then rightclick it and press "update driver software", it has solved a lot of things for me, including broken touchpads because of some reason

Only USB audio device is present there

try looking in "other devices" a lot of stuff end up there because of some reason

There is "AMD HD Audio Device" but disabling that didn't do shit - both front and rear audio jacks don't seem to change things

Odd stuff - it's an HP workstation board with a Q8400, 6GB DDR2 and R7 360. Speakers worked with his 9600GT and 361.75 but DDU messed it up somehow?

Did you enter safe mode before while using DDU? Otherwise the drivers should be factory new

windows 7 doesnt include as much basic drivers as windows 10, so that might be it

Yeah, I believe only 8.1 and 10 auto-download the needed drivers

No luck. Installed the Audio drivers for the board - still no sound

here is my suggestion

 

completely uninstall the driver for the audio

 

put a check on "delete the driver software for this device "

 

force the PC to check for hardware changes
 

it will flash for a while and the add new hardware notification will appear

 

report how it went

you need to go to device manager

 

go to the audio device you find in the PC which is Realtek audio

 

right click on the device and select "Uninstall"

 

completely uninstall the driver for the audio

 

put a check on "delete the driver software for this device "

 

force the PC to check for hardware changes
