Link to my post on the failing hard drive https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/4hncht/internal_hard_drive_problem/

So, my 1TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive is failing. I backed up some of my data and removed the drive from my computer. Here's the problem, after I removed the drive, sometimes my monitor will show no signal and it just stays like that, but my computer is still turned on. And sometimes, it just restarts automatically, without any warning. It happens randomly. It would be great if anyone can help me with this.

When using on-board graphics, there were no issue. But when I installed my GPU, there's a burning smell, but all my temps are low. I don't even know what's the problem here. First my hard drive and now my GPU..

well if there's a burning smell...

Most of the time, a PC rebooting by itself without warning or blue screen, is indicative of a overheating issue.
When the crimson drivers first came out, there was an issue with them where the gpu fan(s) wouldn't scale up, always staying at 20%.

You can see if that is your issue by opening Crimson, going in the Gaming tab, then clicking on Global Settings and finally Global Overdrive.

You might need to scroll down a bit. You should see Fan Speed : 20%(or whatever other number) and if it doesn't say "(Auto)" right beside it, then that's your problem.

I had this issue before, to fix it, I had to use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in safe mode and reinstall the latest version of crimson. Because just resetting the settings to default didn't fix it.

If that's not it, then just use MSI afterburner to log your temperatures while playing a game or a video stress test (GPUTest for example), and while running prime95/intelburntest for the CPU. If the PC still hasn't rebooted after 30+minutes, then that wasn't the issue.

I am experiencing the same problem. Just randomly restarts and sometimes I dont get any video input when booting (after windows loading screen). Installed win10 many times over, used DDU to delete all drivers and install newest one. (as far as I know) no failing hardware, got CPU and PSU checked, no problems found. I am really starting to believe its a win10 problem, but if you guys find another solution, I really want to hear.

This is exactly the same as my problem.

Okay, I ran Unigine Heaven and MSI Afterburner, I don't think it's temperature issue.

Yea tested temps and stuff too. All seems fine. I also get crashes (sometimes) when opening Edge, playing a video on youtube, or log in (System just restarts). I also try'd getting in contact with windows, but the contact page is bugged... >.>.

Edit; Contacted microsoft trough the app (apperantly there is an app for that now). They went trough a couple of steps on my PC. This were the steps;

1st. Update everything. AsustechAMDA00 did not install, but that was no problem since it is a driver for the AI suite for ASUS mobo's.

2nd. System scan. This was done trough CMD (admin) with the command "sfc /scannow"

My files could not be repaired ( there were corrupted files on my clean windows installation though) so step 3 came (also CMD)

3rd. "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth"

For now, I do not have a crash, but could be still bugged (sometimes it works, sometimes it crashes). It is at least something.

It was okay last night. I can restart my computer a few times and no crashes. But today, I don't get any display input when booting my computer.

After some googling, I found this : http://www.eightforums.com/performance-maintenance/68326-sfc-scannow-dism-restorehealth-repair-corrupt-files.html

I got errors that my corrupt files could not be restored. After using this tool (option 3 and 7) It says that the corrupt files are restored :D. Ill report back if I did not have any crashes for a couple of days.

EDIT

Unfortually, my pc just crashed. So it seems it is not fixed yet :/

Well, I think it's my graphic card. There are no video input at all when booting my computer. And when I use the on-board graphics, I can boot normally. I guess, it's dead now.

Would suck if that is the case. Then both my 580's would be dead too, just seems to unlikely, cause when I eventually do boot into windows, I can game no problem with them.
