I just got my new laptop, the dell XPS 15 (not 4k), and installed all drivers. but i noticed that some programs are very low-res:

just to test l started minecraft and saw outlines. in the f3 menu it says its using the 960m.

I think it has to do with color bit and found this guide (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/258-color-bit-depth-display-settings.html)

although I cant preform step 4, because it wont let me select the 960m it only shows the integrated gpu (first image, left menu).

any ideas how to fix this?

it looks like you need to adjust cleartype text in the windows control panel

also he problem with minecraft is that you have minimap levels enabled in the video settings

turn that off

if you want to use minimap levels you need to install optifine to force antialiasing otherwise you get all those lines you see

I adjusted the cleartype text but still some programs are low res/blurry.

minecraft is fixed, although I still have some very noticeable screen tearing.

125%, which is also the recommended setting.

100% is way to tiny (like really tiny)

yeah well thats just windows scaling then

pretty sure if you set it to 100% there will be no blurriness

you cant really do anything about windows scaling not working well on some programs, thats just how it is
