Monitors Not Working

Hello, So I was looking to get a dual monitor setup. One used dvi-d the other displayport, I start up my computer with both of them plugged into the gpu and only the dvi-d monitor is showing anything. The displayport one is saying no signal. If I unplug the dvi-d one, then the displayport one works just fine. When both are plugged in I can not see the displayport one when I search for other displays.

Is this in windows or on bios?

What monitors and GPU are you using? Have you tried using a different connector (either on the DP or DVI monitor) to see if they both work then.

Gtx 970, Asus PB287Q and Acer V223W. There are no other connectors on the Acer one accept DVI.

Have you tried a clean install of the GPU drivers? 

I doubt it's a hardware issue, so there's likely something with the drivers or OS that's causing the issue.

But if it's not even recognizing it how will that work?

When you say not recognizing are you talking about when in windows or while booting or in the bios?

Then it is definetly a graphics card driver problem.

Yes. So that's why I don't know why it isn't working.

Did you enable the second display in Nvidia control panel?

Right click when on desktop when in windows and select Nvidia Contol Panel. On the left side under the tab Monitor or Display there should be a setting for setting up multiple displays.

I read while ggogling it can be a resolution problem.

Does the second display show up if you go to control panel/display/change resolution? If not lower the resolution on the one that is showing and try unplugging and replugging the one that is not working.

Ok thank you. I will try lower the resolution to the other one and see if that works.
