Windows Firewall

I installed a VPN and now every time I turn on my computer Windows Firewall asks permissions for chrome, steam and other programs. How do I make it remember my settings.

Personally I think Windows firewall is crap, take what I say with a grain of salt (don't necessarily take my advice) but I completely disable Windows firewall, disabled all notifications in Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control settings, and just went with a third party protection program (Avast Free Anti-Virus & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Microsoft Security Essentials is also OK.)
