Hello,

I have bee having some CPU overheating problems. I was a woss and bought a pre-built system http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GFG1B1A/ref=twister_B018ATTANK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 , and its has been having overheating issues. I have cleaned my PC extensively, and its still crashes in very light games like TF2, CSGO, and Payday. I live in a hotter area without AC, so I think that is the problem, and also the fans are in poor places, like a front fan the is blocked by a hard drive bay, and and a side fan. Should I put a intake fan on top and a outtake in the back?

Many cases have fans that are blocked by hard drive bays. I don't necessarily think that's the issue. What are your ambient temperatures and have you checked the CPU cooler at all? Including thermal compound and the mount of the cooler.

Is the cooler in this picture the actual cooler that is installed on your CPU?

Is there an open fan mount in the front with no obstructions? If so, just intake front, outtake back. If not, just put that side fan in the back, it will relieve the CPU cooler of hot air.

Remount your cooler if you can.

it may be an issue of running what looks like a 92mm stock cooler on a 125W cpu. you may need a better heatsink if nothing else works

I have not taken off the CPU cooler, but I have dusted it well. As for the CPU temps. last time I recorded them was about 80 degrees F in a game of TF2.

You said you were in a hot location without AC.  If you had to take a guess, what would you say the room temperatures are?

I hope you mean Celsius there.

Do you have an exhaust fan currently?

Sure it would.  If you have fresh air coming in through the front and exiting the rear, it will help, but if your room is really that hot, your temps aren't necessarily too far out of line.

adding another fan wouldnt help temps if your cpu cooler cant keep up with the cpu

Have you tried checking your temps with the side door removed?  You could use a regular house fan to blow cool air into the case with the door off just to see if CPU temps improve.  If you pull the door off and temps improve on the CPU, you'll definitely need to pursue that rear fan installation and possibly more.  If they don't improve, your CPU cooler is more than likely not up to the task.

80 C in a 80 F ambient?

I ran the stock cooler on the 8320 in an 85-90 F room maxing out @ 70 C for a couple months.

If you have spare thermal paste. I would try resetting the cooler. It might have the default pre-applied paste on it.

If you could measure how much space you have from the motherboard tray to the side panel? Based on pictures it looks to be somewhere between 150-160mm. Your cooler selection might be narrowed by that case.

Yes I would roccmend first trying that, if you still have issues trying replacing your cooler and buying a new one for around $30 you can get a cooler master hyper 212 and for couple bucks some good thermal paste then it's simple unplug and remove old cooler. rub off and replace thermal paste then apply new cooler and plug it in once you that with at least decent case air circulations and you'll be hunky dorky
