Hello guys, im from brazil and im going to spain, so actually im thinking on change my notebook (Dell xps 15 l502x).

I was in doubt if for me is better a desktop pc or a notebook, but since i travell a lot im going for the notebook, i saw some but im not sure, so any one can tell me his experience  with various  brands will be great.

These are what im seeing:

Dell Inspiron 15 7559 (
i5-6300HQ 2.3 GHz/ Gtx 960M 4gb/ 8gb ram/ 1 tb 5200rpm)

Msi PE60 6QD-200XES ( i5-6300HQ 2.3 Ghz/ Gtx 950M 2gb/ 8gb ddr4/ 1tb 7200rpm)

MSI GP62 6QE-266XES ( i7-6700HQ  2.6Ghz/ Gtx 950M 2gb/8gb ddr4 SO-DIMM/ 1tb 7200rpm)
Asus GL552VW-DM141 ( i7-6700HQ 2.6 Ghz/ Gtx 960M 2gb/ 8gb ddr4/ 1 tb 7200rpm)

My budget is $900

Im concerned a lot about Asus durability i had one and it was a total crap worth less, Dell i had 3 2 inspiron series and 1 xps i think they are amazing, msi i dont know i never used and never saw.

Thanks :D

The Y700 is actually probably the best option in this price range - if you are worried about addware, that has been fixed over 2 years ago. As for fragility - it's an enitrely metal chassis whereas the rest are all plastic

The Dell has a crappy keyboard, mediocre screen, poor audio, crappy BIOS (hence the needed update), weak screen (the display flexes) - it's cheap for a reason

Yea, i wasnt going for the asus because i only found the plastic version on Europe under 900
then i saw the msi and i thought that is harder than asus, i have a asus that is a crap, the same with samsung i do not recomend it, my moms notebook came with a processor that supports 32bit with w8.1 64bit installed :/
If i find the lenovo i think i may go for it.
Thanks a lot!

@Dackzy and I were talking and apparently MSI laptops are VERY prone to premature failure of random parts - you can ask him.

Yeah they are, but it makes business great for me, since I know a lot of people who buy MSI laptops, because they are priced well. xD

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

haha thats why i dont like notebooks, my actual Xps 15 l502x has a problem with his 540M, i have to underclock the grafics to 440-800 mhz so i can play 3D games like Cs go, lol, etc...

If i didnt found that solution the game  will still Freezing and have to Shut down by the power button, so if anyone is going to buy a notebook with 540M (that is old) you will have to do that   :( its really anoying, thats why im searching so much about errors ^_^

Hence why good cooling is important and the Y700 with it's massive copper heatsink is a good one :)

Yeah that heatsink is pretty big for a laptop.

I still use a T420s (i7 and quadro) because it is a solid laptop and it meets my requerments when it comes to power, but only just. I think that I will upgrade to the T460s soon.

Even though many people dislike how the Y-series turn Turbo off when you are gaming, I personally find a 2.6GHz quad-ocre i7 is more than enough for a 960M/860M and it results in much lower temps

It's plenty fine for a 960m and lower temps are just better, because then I don't have to change thermal paste and parts out that often because they where to hot over longer usage.

I really hate changing the thermal paste since I have to remove so many things in a lot of laptops just to do that.

There's no difference - GPU usage is still at 100% but the whole thing runs cooler

Then is the Y700  easy to remove the back plastic to upgrade it?

Please dude I just fixed one yesterday and it was not fun. That thing runs super hot, but I know a guy that makes custom heat sinks things so I asked to custimor if he was willing to pay 100€ to get a better heatsink in it on top of the 80€ he was paying me and he said yes, so I asked my friend to make a heatsink that would fit inside the Y510p and put some special thermalpast on it and now it runs cooler.

There is a MUCH easier fix xD - use some springs to increase the mounting pressure and it runs 10*C cooler - the pressure of the default screws is not enough

Well I also did that, but the extra big heatsink and thermalpast got it lower than that.
