Hey everyone!

Just started getting into the tech community and decided that I want to sell my PS4 and switch to the PC side of things.

I live in British Columbia Canada, and currently have an Asus laptop that plays games pretty well (has an i7 4510u, Nvidia 840m and 8gb of RAM) but I am definitely hitting the limitations quite a bit more lately.

I'd pretty much be soley using it for video games and would like a smaller form body do I could have it in my living room for multiplayer couch gaming hooked up to my TV. Some day I'd like to do VR but if I had to upgrade in the future that'd be alright as VR is still way out of my price range. As for gaming I'll mostly be playing AAA titles and would like to play them at max settings if possible.

My budget is $1300 Canadian and that's including the OS, as well as a keyboard (I have a cheap wireless Microsoft mouse). I can worry about a monitor later as I'll just plug it into my TV for now I'd need be.

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

I have this for you... but seeing above, might be better to go for the 980  card instead of the one I chose  http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Jp82K8

The 980 is bad value for money. Assuming the op is gaming at 1080p then a 390 is a better buy for a lot less money.

Also the 980 that is in your build is out of stock. The other ones are priced at $600+

he said he wants to do vr in the future.

he should wait for next gen anyways. also its by far the cheapest 980 the next one is 100$ more expensive. its probably worth waiting.

Click on the link for the GTX 980 and see what happens. The page doesn't exist.

The Cheapest 980 is over $600.

yeah just noticed it myself. and with that im over the budget. he should really wait for next gen. even if there is nothing in his price range (500-550$) everything else will become cheaper.
