What would you think about an MSI AMD R7 370 or a GTX 950? I was looking at a few of them

The R9 380 is more powerful. the cooler on the sapphire on it AWESOME. Pick that unless you want to watercool. then go powercolour. but if you want something below $150 then go gtx 950. that has more performance.

You really want to spend on the best that you can. So I'd really look into pricing for the 380.
But between these two cards, though, the 950 should out perform the 370.

Yeah i would probably look at one with a good cooler as well as my current gpu is a little loud so thats good to know the sapphire has a good cooler. With regards to the 950, i am not looking to scrimp with the lowest possible cost but i also dont want to overkill, do you think i could get away with the 950 or should i go extra with r9 380 sapphire?

Yeah im not looking to spend as little as possible but also not to overspend on it so do you think the sapphire makes the most sense?

My r9 380 play gta 5 at high with the particle quality maxed, 2x MSAA faxed FXAA and maxed out extended shadow distance and rendering distance. I have V-sync on and dont notice much stuttering (barely).

P.S: I have the 4 gb edition (GTA 5 takes 2.6 gigs of ram on mine) and i have to oced to pretty much its max.

If you're getting the 380, get a Sapphire brand.
If you're getting the 950, I prefer MSI branded.

Nope, note really. If you have to wait another paycheck, you wont regret waiting for the 380.

It's not a completely avoid psu but it is lower quality.
It should get the job done, though.
It's enough wattage, just make sure it has two 6 pin PCIe connectors.

Im going to assume this will be on 24/7.

From the experience i have had with it, its been very good, its silent and doesn't seem to fluctuate its supply at all and i leave my pc on for long amounts of time and it seems to cope fine. I would maybe consider a high quality one for a 24/7 NAS though
