Building a PC for a friend, I am not inexperienced with building PC's, but for some reason I just can't get this one to work. System boots, all LED's and fans running, then about 10 seconds later powers down again, cycling over and over. I have now pulled it out of the case, and am just trouble shooting to try and get it too output. Have tried onboard graphics, have removed cooler to find, yes, the CPU is warming up a  little, but not enough for it too be a thermal shutdown/cycle, tried with one stick of RAM, removed CMOS battery for 10 seconds. No idea what is wrong. One thing I noticed is the power supply has a slight whine, when it is turned on but the system is powered off and again when the system is powered on.

Specs: i5 6600k

            Gigabyte Windforce 980ti

            Gigabyte G1.Sniper B7

            EVGA G2 750w

            Hyper D92

            16 gigs (2x8gig) Hyper X Fury DDR4

Nothing else of importance that I can think of

Any idea's what could be wrong?

Thanks

Try using a different power supply as when a PC boot loops it usually can't get enough power. At least from my experience.

Hope this helps :P

I have the same PSU in my personal rig and I have never had any problems with it whatsoever, would be good to try but dont have a spare one handy. Plus I highly doubt its a lack of power, 750w for just the CPU and motherboard haha

this happened to me recently, do you have the power LED things plugged in properly? i found out i had them in the wrong order, so my computer wouldn't boot and just kept looping.

it sounds like something only a rookie would do, but i've doing PC stuff for 5-6 years now working on my own and my brother's computers, plus friends and even help with school computers occasionally. So don't feel too bad if this is the issue :D
