So, what were you going to buy hardware wise, what's yer budget/country and display set up, and what are you using it for?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

The best way to learn is to watch a video there are many out there on youtube.

Virtually every tech channel has made one at one point

After you learn some basics you are going to want to find a budget that fits.

A $500 computer will last for the time being but not be very "future-proof" a $1000 computer will last you through many generations of games for the next 3 to 4 years. $1000 to $1500 is your sweet spot for the best value for your money.

For choosing parts the best way is to read and watch reviews online and if you ever need help when selecting parts just come back to the forums and ask! :D

3 tips to have a good time on the LTT forums | 1. When you reply to someone please quote them | 2. Please follow your threads | 3. Follow the C.o.C

If you follow these 3 tips you should have a blast.

i'm rather proud of this for some reason. http://imgur.com/6ttS5XZ

and you already have like a 4k or 1440p 144hz display? That's not exactly a very optimized build, if you're just doing 60hz gaming the K part won't be worth it, and if you need CPU performance the 5820K is the chip to get

and it's probably not worth buying a high end GPU right now, especially from nvidia given the lack of performance gain from DX12 and additional display cost, although the 980ti is the fastest once you overclock it, new stuff is coming pretty soon

But you could be getting a better CPU or a more well rounded build for the same budget if a high end display isn't already in the mix
