before installing the OS:

1) install the OS

2) get your network drivers ready, you might need it

 

after installing the OS:

1) install network driver if required

2) install the required driver and utlities from the moherboard website

3) visit ninite.com

4) install everything else

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

get your anti-virus and servicepacks downloaded and install them on your fresh OS before connecting to the internet, via external drive, thumb stick, sd card..whatever.

update the anti-virus immediately upon connecting to the net while simultaneously downloading all the remaining security patches from windows.

Then install everything else.

unless you have problems with ram, or hard drives (the most common) you don't need anything from the bios (especially if you don't do any raid).

after the install I would recommend stress testing your PC (also called "burning in" I think). Austin made a great video about it :

Shouldn't need to.  Can checkout the and look at the boot order to make sure that it'll check to read off usb/dvd before looking to the HDD/SSD for a boot sector.   Unless you\ve got a complicated setup on a raid zero I wouldn't think you'd have an issue with the bios/uefi
